Optimise your Wi-Fi Networks & Maximise Collision Avoidance

Onsite Wireless Survey

Onsite Survey

Wi-Fi surveys enable maximum network coverage and throughput. A great wireless network starts with an effective planning via a wireless site survey. Where people sit, what applications and devices you need to support and the type of building you are in all have a significant effect on the number of wireless access points you need as well as how they are positioned and configured.

Rapid IT's expertise and breadth of wireless solutions knowledge across business, education and local government allows us to provide the most effective Wi-Fi planning services. We’ll ensure the most cost effective, secure and reliable wireless network solution meets your exact requirements.

Benefits of a Rapid IT Site Survey:

  • On-site and desktop surveys

  • Detailed report specifying the optimal wireless network solution, security concerns, channel optimisation and sources of interference

  • Verification and Fault-Finding capabilities

  • Friendly team and experienced RF/Wi-Fi specialists

By analysing site plans of your current office layout or furniture presence, we can remotely plan your wireless network even before you move you deploy your wireless network. Working with design plans and site drawings Rapid IT digitally models your environment and recommends access point locations to provide you the perfect wireless coverage for your needs. If the building is still under construction we can even recommend improvements to avoid wireless “black holes” and minimise costs with different kinds of building materials.

Wireless LAN Planning

Wireless Planning

In order to create an accurate proposal for potential customers, we use analyse building plans and conduct a RF survey using bespoke hardware to determine a heat map of where best to position Access Points for optimum coverage across a whole site.

Using AutoCAD DXF and DWG, JPEG, and GIF floor plan files, Rapid IT’s technical engineers will factor in the RF characteristics of common building materials, including many types of doors, walls, ceilings, and other physical obstructions and use that information to develop an accurate RF plan for the building. Our software will record any existing RF devices or any interference from mobile phones or spectrum devices that could interfere with your wireless network ambitions. We will plan for outdoor coverage areas and take into account of interference from other wireless networks or spectrum.

You as a valued customer will receive a heat and bleed map of your premises giving you reassurance you will deploy your access points or choice of antenna effectively.

Advantages of an On-site Survey

Servey

An on-site survey has the advantage of discovering obstacles such as metal shielding and thick walls which may not be obvious from site plans and gives a more accurate result.

Rapid IT uses a Radio Frequency wireless site survey to map the landscape of your wireless network. Our specialist tools passively measure background noise from interfering WLAN sources and identify any hard to get to areas. After this has been achieved, we can then perform an active survey to define the optimal location for every proposed access point. Where a desktop (remote) wireless survey has been previously performed the RF Site Survey is used as a double check to verify coverage will be as previously estimated.

An RF survey enables Wi-Fi infrastructure design that gives reliable, accessible coverage that performs exactly as expected.

Verification and Optimisation Survey

Verification

Rapid IT also provides consultative services to verify and optimise wireless network performance. Our wireless consultants have broad experience working with wireless, microwave point-to-point and RF links in buildings and between sites across the UK. This depth of knowledge allows them to quickly identify sources of interference, poorly configured access points, and similar complex wireless network issues, and get your wireless network working at peak performance in no time
